What began as a small group of friends training for the Florence marathon has now blossomed into a community of over 200 members, united by their passion for running and the spirit of togetherness.

Track Sessions for All Abilities: Marsh Lane Harriers host two track sessions weekly at Chaffers, inviting participants of all abilities to join the running community. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting, everyone is welcome. The sessions take place on Wednesdays at 6 pm and Saturdays at 9 am, with a nominal fee of £2 for adults and £1 for kids.

A Running Club Born of Friendship: Founded in August 2019 by John Carragher and a group of five friends gearing up for the Florence marathon, Marsh Lane Harriers emerged as a beacon for runners seeking a sense of community. The club's growth soared under the strategic direction of Coach Powell, who introduced structured sessions to enhance the running experience.

Restoring Tracks and Making Strides: In June 2020, the club embarked on a community effort to restore the abandoned track at Rimrose Valley, showcasing the power of collective action. The Harriers made a significant impact at running events in December 2020, setting personal bests and leaving an indelible mark on Aintree and Oulton Park.

Affiliated with England Athletics: In January 2021, Marsh Lane Harriers earned official recognition from England Athletics, solidifying its status as a reputable running club. The affiliation opened doors to enhanced opportunities and resources for the members.

The track underwent a transformative resurfacing in June 2021, ensuring a pristine running surface.

Lighting Up the Track: March 2022 marked a significant enhancement as 10 floodlights were installed, illuminating the track for year-round training. Evening sessions are now conducted in a safe and secure environment, adding a new dimension to the running experience.
